In Far
North Queensland we see a lot of people travelling around alone and
experiencing the beauties of this part of Australia first hand.
Now
there is an assumption, in some quarters, that solo travellers are all natural
extroverts who enjoy ‘mixing in’ with large groups of strangers at every
opportunity. In our experience though,
that assumption is often false.
It may
well be that you are planning to travel up here on your own but you are, in
fact, the quiet retiring sort who is typically introverted and who doesn’t want
to be ‘engaged’ in conversation and joint fun-filled activities with your
fellow holidaymakers.
The
good news is that the culture around here is very much one of open and easy friendliness
but also that of respecting someone’s privacy.
If you prefer to be quiet and solitary in your exploration of some of
the natural beauties of places such as Trinity Beach and Port Douglas, then
you’ll find plenty of opportunities to simply ‘get away from it all’.
Of
course, if you are in somewhere like our Trinity
Beach accommodation and you do feel the need for
some friendly and good-natured company, then there’ll be plenty of opportunity
to make new friends around the pool or on the beach etc.
The
only point we would make relating to travelling alone is to remember to let
someone know your planned itinerary if you intend to go well off the beaten
track into some of the wild natural beauty surrounding the Far North Queensland
resorts. That should include your
estimated time of return etc.
That’s
just basic common-sense safety practice when exploring open and untamed country
and it won’t conflict at all with your perfectly understandable desire to be
left in peace and to your own devices!
So, if
you are a quiet and reserved person travelling alone, you find this part of the
world ideal.
